MA, Music (Composing for Moving Images)

My most recent academic conquest, this MA course was geared around exposing students to the world of composing for film and what it takes to forge a career in this business. My work at City included a portfolio of film compositions (some of which can be viewed in the portfolio section of this site) and modules exploring fields such as working with live ensembles, manipulating sound materials and the mechanics and functions of film music.

Leeds Metropolitan University 2011

I spent three amazing years in Leeds studying a wide range of subjects relating to technology's role in modern music and sound production. Under the tutelage of an amazing group of lecturers, and with access to some of the finest music studios available in the country, I was able to experiment with techniques and ideas across the whole spectrum of music and sound work. Areas of study which particularly engaged me at Leeds Met included studio recording, live electronic music performance, building and using soft synthesizers and studying the inner workings of the music industry.

City College Coventry 2008

After studying classical music at A-level, I decided to fill my year off before I went to Leeds with this course at City College Coventry. The course allowed me to work with a large group of talented instrumental and vocal performers to write and perform music across a range of styles.
